Ecommerce Platform Tequi
Overview
Tequi is an ecommerce platform developed in a hackaton in collavoration with developers that allow people to discover new products and acquire them buying by groups.
As part of the problem, Tequi was born from the demand, high import cost and the lack of premium products in Mexico and Latinoamerica.
Goal
The goal was to create an ecommerce platform with an intuitive interface that connect people with different hobbies and allow them to organize communities to buy at more affordable prices.
My Role
Product designer responsible for:
• Maintain communication with engineers and users.
• Guide to define the attributes of the new brand and transfer them to a unique image.
• Understanding the context of the user researching and identifying opportunities to create a success experience.
• Wireframing multiple sketches exploring new scenarios.
Deliverables
Branding documentation, key screens & prototype,  design pattern specs, user test results, implementation guides.
Actions
I started doing a deep investigation about how the Mexican market is moving, surveys were conducted to detect type of products that people would like to buy, helping to create our personas and defining our market demographics.
We looked the current Mexican and international ecommerce sites that
operate in Mexico and we have several discoveries:
• Ecommerce sites offer very limited product categories
• Bad experience in checkout flow to make a purchase
• The deals offered are not good and fail to generate the interest of the people
• Delivery times are very long and high in cost
• Q & A is very limited
• They do not promote the generation of communities
Workflows, wireframing and testing
With the last areas mentioned to improve in the market I started to explore workflows that help users have a better experience. Workflows and wireframing helped me to ensure the design were feasible and technically competent.
